Progress

March 2nd, 2006

I am so excited to see all the progress that all of our community members are making.  So often now, I am seeing posts that an account has been paid off, or a dispute came out in their favor, or a charge-off has been brought to paid-as-agreed status, or that another payday loan has been paid off.  What a great feeling!  It gives me great hope for my ability to get my credit straightened out.  Not only that, but we are all learning how to keep from making the same mistakes in the future.  That is the most important thing for me.

Baby steps!

February 26th, 2006

Well, I’ve started the journey to repairing my credit. I sent 4 validation letters, which have all been accepted. I got one of the green cards back, and I’m waiting for the others. I drafted 2 letters to have some things removed from my credit for which I was an authorized user or participant on account. I also wrote 2 letters to attach to those from the original owner of the account that state that they agree to take responsibility for the accounts. Yay for me! They seem like small steps for some people, but they are big for me.

First Moves

February 2nd, 2006

Now that I have my credit reports in hand (except for the Equifax one, man that company drives me crazy, they keep telling me my password is incorrect) I am excited and disappointed at the same time. I have such a long road ahead of me. I am super excited though, about the points system here. I see that it has helped several people make payments toward their debts, and I most definitely will be using it for the same purpose. I will be paying off some small accounts with whatever I am able to earn here. I think it’s a great system and I hope that more people take advantage of it in the future. That’s all for now!

Hello

January 31st, 2006

Hi everybody!

This is such a great website, with so many informative sections, and so many great people! It is nice to know that there is a place that we can gather to talk about our debt problems and come up with solutions together. I wish that I hadn’t made so many credit mistakes (most were medical bills, but had I been more responsible and/or educated, I may have been able to avoid these problems). Now that I have a decent job, I may be able to pull myself out of the problems that I am having and become financially stable so that my kids will have a great future. Wish me luck!
